Today I met with The Springfield Institute and their four interns from Amherst College. It was a really great meeting and it looks like the relationship between GtC and The Springfield Institute will turn into something that will be great for our city and its neighborhoods. It sounds like they'll be down to gardens soon to get their hands in the dirt and see GtC in the works.
We had a great (hot!) day at the garden and got a lot of work done on Hancock Street. Clearing some land for our corn, tearing up some roots to plant our winter squash, weeding, and planting flowers along the fence.
Productive...yes indeed it was! However, "hot!" was an understatement! It was roastinggggggggg! I'm sure this was the hottest day we've had yet!
